A New Journey Begins...

As of April 2010, I started practicing at Dr. Beverly Kodama's family practice on 4400 Marconi Ave Sacramento, CA 95821. The phone number is 916-482-7886. The opportunity to help this wonderful practice has been an honor. Dr. Kodama has been on months of medical leave and asked me to come in and serve the needs of her patients who she cares for as her own family. She is a skilled mentor and loves to keep involved with the dental community. Dr. Kodama has open my eyes to a whole new perspective in dentistry that I look forward to developing expertise in.

Working for Dr. Mickiewicz was a great experience. I learned the complexity of treating oral facial pain and sleep apnea. From this experience, I also gained clarity for my passion for restorative and general practice. I charish my six months of experience in that practice, but look forward to the new adventures to come at Dr. Kodama's. I am very fortunate to have the background and exposure that I have in practice thus far.

Dr. Kodama has practiced for over 28 years and completed post-graduate education at The Pankey Institute, The Dawson Academy, and Spears Education. I share the same passion for dentistry as she and look forward to us working together. I have started taking Frank Spears education and look forward to my continued process of learning. I look forward to growing my own core group of patients and to be able to follow along with their health and dental needs.

Moving On...

As of now, I am no longer working for Dr. Amy Woo. I had a wonderful 2 years there and got to know some patients very well. I am very saddened that I may never see some of those great people again. I am on the hunt for a new office to call home. Currently, I am practicing at Dr. Tim Mickiewicz office on 3401 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento CA 95816. He's a great mentor and has been practicing for over 27 years. I am helping him 2 days a week, in hopes that our dental values match and it will become my new/permanent place to serve the Sacramento community. If you would like information on his office you can visit www.drmickdds.com.

On Februaury 7, 2009- I participated in Smiles for Kids 2009 which is a program provided by the Sacramento District Dental Society to help provide treatment to underprivileged children in the Sacramento Community. If you would like to learn more about the program you can contact the Sacramento Dental Society. Participating dentists in the Sacramento area open their offices and volunteers provide as much dental treatment as possible. After the day, doctors have the opportunity to adopt a child to complete the rest of the treatment needed.

In May- I went on a dental mission to Peru with fellow dentists and dental students to provide dental care to the under-served community in Cusco. It was an eye-opening experience and it allowed me to see how dentistry is practiced in other countries. I can't wait until I'm able to do another dental mission. I feel that dentists have the responsibility to use their skill to provide care for others.

Where I Am Today

I am Dr. Bianca Yee. Growing up I've always had a good experience at the dental office. My dentist has always been Dr. Amy Woo, who I now work with. Dr. Woo has been my mentor since high school when she'd asked me to intern in her office. Unaware of any interest in the field of dentistry, I welcomed this opportunity. From this experience, I found that I enjoyed this profession and want to make an impact on people's lives as she and Dr. Kristine Balcom have. After high school, I went to UC Davis to complete a Bachlors of Science degree. While at UCD, I was part of a community service sorority (Lamda Omicron Xi), founding member of the March of Dimes Collegiate Council at UCD, and interned at Dr. Amy Woo's office. Following, I finished my academic career at the University of Pacific's Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Currently, I am now an associate with Dr. Amy Woo and Dr. Kristine Balcom at a wonderful and established practice in Sacramento, CA. I am grateful to find this path in dentistry and look forward to many rewarding experiences while I encourage people to smile.
